We are excited to be welcoming one of Sydney's best known Portuguese chefs, the brilliant Jose Silva, to Sydney Seafood School to teach us how to recreate the flavours of Portugal in Sydney.

With an impressive background in fine dining, Jose served as the Head Chef of Guillaume Brahimi’s award-winning Opera House restaurant Bennelong for 12 years, before taking over the famous Sweet Belem - specialising in Portuguese cakes and pastries (including the undisputed best custard tarts in Sydney!).

Beyond that, he certainly knows his seafood: as owner and founder of a much-loved seafood restaurant and takeaway FICH in Petersham. Most recently, Jose and his wife have opened a modern Portuguese diner also in the heart of Petersham – named Lunas after their daughter.
